"RICKI"

Pictured here at one day old, Ricki has been a going
concern since she hit the ground.  Sired by a son of
Tanquery Gin, a really nice cutting stallion named
"Ginnin Cowboy" who is owned by Nelson Bilyea,
Ricki is living proof that he throws lovely heads!

Ricki's registered name will is "HWT Gin Ricki"
after the cutting horse side of her pedigree.  She's
got a great set of legs, and a really bratty attitude,
so I'm sure she's going to be something special !

Ricki n George.jpg (44442 bytes)

As a baby, Ricki loved to torment George - hilarious!  This foal was highly
intelligent, constantly goading George into a game of chase.  It's unbelieveable how smart
she is!  We plan on being very involved with breeding Appaloosa's with cowhorse
pedigree, because they are very talented and tough, but oh so hard to find!

When it came time to back her, we were lucky enough to have
Sean Wheeler (a great colt starter) working for us for the summer.
He backed Ricki and taught her to go up and down through the
gaits - so when Matt got her out this spring (we don't work the
young horses very hard until they are four) she just stepped off
into her job and it's been onward and upward ever since!

That's why we love Reining and Cutting Horses! People say you
can't ride the papers but I strongly disagree and suspect that the
people who say that have never had a well bred horse! These
colts take naturally to work, are nice to ride and instinctively
seem to know what you are asking them to do. Very trainable
and able to do things ordinary hores just plow through.
That' why we breed - you can't beat a great horse.
