What is a mini lesson?   Well, basically we introduce everyone to their horses, and teach them a basic ‘stop start steer’ session.  By the time everyone leaves, they will feel comfortable on their horses!

How are they ‘Quality Horses’?  That simply means that the horses we use have proven they are dependable and quiet.  We use these horses for our camp program as well, so they are talented and not just ‘plunkers’.

What is ‘varied terrain’?  On our one hour ride, it’s an easy trail. One or two small hills, and a nice tour through the woods.  If you go on our two and three hour rides, we do more hills, and go to water, or cross it.  This is nothing to be concerned about, the horses are well used to these trail conditions.

Do I  need a helmet?  Besides the fact that most insurance companies now have a MANDATORY helmet policy – it just makes SENSE!  A sudden surprise can happen, even in the best of times  If you can only protect one thing, your HEAD is the smartest choice! Helmets ARE supplied!

What’s with the boot/heel? Running shoes or sandals are not very good footware for riding, as they are unsafe around horses who might decide to ‘dance’ on your toe.  Also, a foot can slip through the stirrup if you don’t have a 1 in heel on your boot.  We have lots, or bring your own!
