WHAT ABOUT COVID?   Public Horseback Riding takes place exclusively out of doors, and so it is VERY EASY to do everything contactless & distanced.  Our reins are a vinyl smooth surface so can be wiped easily between rides. Spacing? Well that’s a natural thing when horseback riding!

What is a mini lesson?   We introduce everyone to their horses, show them what to do, and give everyone a contactless’stop start steer’ session.  Your horse is held for mounting at the end of a long line, and you are coached from the ground until you feel in control. By the time everyone leaves, they always feel comfortable on their horses, and it’s easy to do with distances that are very comfortable.

How are they ‘Quality Horses’?  That simply means that the horses we use have proven they are dependable and quiet.  We use these horses for our camp program as well, so they are talented and not just ‘plunkers’. MORE importantly these horses have been with us a LONG time.  We don’t sell our horses every year like some stables, these guys are our most valued friends.  We love our horses and so will you!

What is ‘varied terrain’?  On our one hour ride, it’s an easy trail. One or two small hills, and a nice tour through the woods.  If you choose our two hour ride, we do more hills, and go to a lake where the horses drink.  Our horses are well used to these trail conditions.

Do I  need a helmet?  Besides the fact that most insurance companies now have a MANDATORY helmet policy – it just makes SENSE!  A sudden surprise can happen, even in the best of times. If you can only protect one thing, your HEAD is the smartest choice! Our helmets are plastic and ASTM approved, so CLEAN STERILIZED Helmets are easy to supply for each ride.

What’s with the boot/heel? The safest boot will have a 1 cm heel, to keep your foot from sliding through the stirrup.  In 2020, we are adding TAPADEROS, which are a cover for the stirrup.  That means you can wear a runner or hiker (no sandals please)
